* Service Events/ Opportunities – Rich L.

-          St. Jude Landscaping project: anticipated late Sept. – early Oct.; request Scouts participate in site preparation phase (demo and regrading) and finishing phase (lay weed barrier, spread mulch, etc.), with both Professional & ASM supervision.

-          Motion Approved to support project & instruct PLC to organize participation plan. Rich will serve as Adult Coordinator and Parish Liaison.

* Pack 433 Activities – Pack/Troop Interaction Opportunities – Steve Kuehn

-          Reported invitations have been offered to WEBELOS of Pack 433 to Sept. Court of Honor, Oct. Camporee (Saturday), and CrossOver (Feb 29 – Mar. 2), plus a regular Troop meeting in Jan.’08.

-          Committee requested invitation also be extended to WEBELOS to OA service project Nov. 17.

-          Reported Pack 433 has a Den Chief for all 3 WEBELOS Patrols:

       Jon K., Kyle Y., & Izak V.

-          Reported: Pack 433 anticipates 8 or 9 WEBELOS to crossover

* Outdoor Activities – Lee Hunt

-          Motion Approved as recommended, due to conditions and participation conflicts, that Brule River trip be cancelled.

-          Confirmed Fall Camporee participation with instruction to PLC and Qmstr. to make appropriate preparations. Lee will email parents prior to Sept. 17 meeting to accommodate planning.

-          Confirmed Nov 9-11 FCA Troop Campout. PLC instruction and parent email to follow next month.

-          Winter Camping plan: Only Okpik Dog Sled trek confirmed. PLC will poll Troop Sept. 17 for specific interest.

-          Porkies High Adventure trek, Oct. 18 – 21: Scott reported preparations proceeding. Shake-out hikes are planned for 9/28 & 10/5 at Lake Maria. There are 15-18 Scouts and Scouters preparing to go, 6 confirmed adults…Committee requested Scott follow-up with Lee to ensure Tour Permits are prepared and turned in.

* “Strengthening the Troop” Subcommittee Meeting – 1st Meeting week of September 24

-          Motion Approved to set date for Tuesday, Sept. 25; time and location TBD by CC.

* Training - Wyeth

-          Reported/distributed flyer for District Fall Training planned for Saturday, October 13, 2007 at St. Joe’s, Lino Lakes. See http://training.nsbsa.org

-          FOS Training – no report

* Other Topics

-          Motion Approved to accept Troop 2007 – 2008 Calendar.

-  Fred K. should ensure that all scheduled meetings have space reserved with St. Jude.

-  Kelvin will include the calendar with the next Troop newsletter.

-          Motion Approved to donate any perishable food supplies remaining following the November Troop Campout.

-  The troop needs to use or donate the leftover food from summer camps before winter so it doesn’t spoil like last years food.

-  Steve W. will check to see if our troop can donate surplus equipment to other troops that could use the equipment.

-          Steve F. asked if the troop was interested in obtaining surplus Military equipment. The committee consensus was to look into the possibility. Asked Steve to forward information to Chair for further review and make recommendations of useful equipment that he thinks the troop could use.

-          Troop email lists: attendees reported receiving test messages and committed to report to Kelvin any further problems as they occur.

-          Popcorn Sale program presented by Mike & John and discussed.

-  John Y. will pick up the popcorn on 9/29 and will distribute the “show and sale” popcorn to the scouts at the 10/1 troop meeting. Scouts can start selling popcorn on 9/29 and they can make arrangements with John if they want the “show and sale” popcorn early.

-  Motion Approved to return proceeds from “Soldier Donation” sales back to Council to help defray shipping costs for these items.

-  Motion Approved to direct 100% of remaining proceeds to the appropriated Scout Accounts.

-          Following Troop Elections , Oct. 22, SM agreed to invite New and Old PLC’s to a Troop PLC Planning meeting.

-  Motion Approved to request SM to provide a meal for planning meeting and Troop will reimburse SM.

-          Linda indicates that she’s available to sew any patches on scouts uniform if they don’t have accesses to sewing equipment at home.
