1/5/09: Theme Hobbies: Each
patrol leader will bring in their hobbies.
Eagle Patrol: Flags. Patrol meetings after opening ceremony. Patrols need to plan a merit badge day and bring
details on this to present them to the troop.
Steve suggested that an email be sent from the
PLC with details. They would like to
host a merit badge day at this meeting working on the three Citizenship, Communication,
Coin Collecting, Home Repairs, Fingerprinting with consolers. The scouts should be prepared to work on these merit badge.
Kyle will request the additional rooms for Merit badge this meeting. Winter Camping planning
during Merit Badge times for winter camping.

Other:
Toys for
tots drive Wed (Mr. Frost) and Thru (Mr. Wiberg) from 3:30 ->5:30 to put
flyers together and collect toys on Sat from 9à12. Kyle will send an email with details and
asking for responses to see who can be available to collect toys.

Treasures Report:
Steve
passed out Nov. bank statement with details on transactions made in November.
Balance as
of 11/5 ~$7600
with $1900 in scout accounts, minus $300 check for Okpik so ~$5400 balance.
$4200.80
in popcorn sales, with $1860 going in to scout accounts. 15 scouts participated
in popcorn sales this year.
Two families
have outstanding balances for fall Camporee.
Steve K. sent an email to the families this last week, requesting the
balance due.
Troop
Ledger, stand alone version with feed from Troop Master,
cost $65. We’re
running off a very old version of Troop Master.
$44.95 is the cost for an updated version of Troop Master 2008 with a three year license.
Steve W. asked if the old TroopMaster program database could be upgrade
to the current version. Scott will work
with Bob L. on upgrading the software. Steve
F. motioned to upgrade. Motion passed.
Troop
Ledger, we currently have two treasures, one handling the ins and outs of the
troop account while one is handling the Scout accounts. Troop Ledger needs to be resident on one
computer. Fred suggested that Steve
L. and John Y. to work out the details on how to handle the troop accounts. Wyeth pointed out that Troop Ledger is designed to work with Troop Master. Motions passed to approve to spend up to $100
on Troop Ledger or Quickbooks.
Outdoor Activities:
Winter
Camping:
Rich has a
spreadsheet with the names of scouts interested in winter camping this year.
Steve K.
looked into leading Snow Huskies / Snow Base on the same weekend as Okpik
dogsled.
Scott will
lead Okpik Dogsled,
Rich will
lead Okpik outdoor stay.
50% down payment needed by 1/5 for the dogsled on 2/13.
The Snow
Huskies can arrive early with the Snow Base scouts.
Costs: $375 Dogsled, Okip $100 per
night. Snow Base ~$79, Snow Huskies ~$50. The camps need reservations 45 days in
advance so we need to lock in the dates in December.

patrol is planning a merit badge day outing.
Saturday

Outdoor activity form:
Steve L.
presented an old version of the troop camping fees. Kelvin will type the worksheet and send
it out to the troop for approval.
Steve
recommended that four copies of the worksheet be filled out
for each campout with one going to the committee chair, treasurer and event
leader and camping coordinator.
Service Events
Toys for
Tots drive this month. If we repeat this
again next year, we will need to start earlier.
The food shelf drive was all ready to go, but the timing didn’t work out.
Steve F. thought we could try the food drive again in Feb.
Pack Troop Interaction:
Cross Over weekend in on the calendar, Feb 27 -> March 1. One Patrol with six scouts. Pack Blue and Gold is on Feb 19. Mike P. will contact the OA to see if they
can do a ceremony at the Blue and Gold.
$552.25 was the St. Jude’s Pancake breakfast expenses with ~$1100 net.
OA is pushing for OA reps from the troop and an OA adult rep/contact person for each troop. There will be an OA breakout in January.
Wyeth sent an updated on his work on Wood Badge tickets and his work with the SPL on helping lead the troop. For example setting a Theme for the monthly meetings and allow the PL work on parts of the theme.
The other ticket was the TLT (Troop Leadership Training) which is intended to replaces the JLTC training for the troop. The guide is available online. The guide has cards that has guidelines for each leadership position in the troop.
Eagle Report:
Spencer completed his Eagle project. Steve had a meeting with Spencer and Ben on wrapping up their Eagle latest details.
