Okpik winter camping theme with winter camping
pictures.

Pizza Party – Scouts should bring a donation for the food
shelf.
- Court
of Honor – Planning on having one in January.
- Lee
mentioned that the Webelos II would like to have a formal troop visit before
the pack meeting in January 19.

Newsletter:
Roundtable Report:
- Dennis
picked up the re-charting information. Boy scouts need to be
rechartered by 1/31/06 for existing scouts. Webelos II re-charter with Pack by
3/31/05 and they’ll transfer to Troop for a $1 fee.
- FOS
Presentations.
- Presentation
of Collage of Wilderness Now, which is an unofficial scout camp. This is a free camp located in
Morrison county
MN. This may be a good patrol
campout.
- Flyer
on American Heritage trail out east.
- Mike
C. noted that with the combined council there will be more contingents going
to Philmont. Anybody over 14 on
Jan. 1st could be able to go to Philmont. From the Philmont website the 2004
requirements was: 2004 Philmont participants must be
at least 14 by January 1, 2004, or have completed the eighth grade and be at
least 13 years of age prior to participation.
- There
was also discussion at roundtable if there was insurance on the troop
equipment. This should be check
with the charted org rep. Dennis L. and Steve L will check with
charter org rep. when recharging. (Note trailers are a special case
where they may need an additional rider). The ark is insured, but it has a high
deductible.

Newsletter:
- Check
to see if we can change the Troops domain name to 1st
Mantiou433.org or 2ed NorthrenStar433.org. Kelvin will send an email to Tom S.
asking for a URL change.
- Lee
Hunt will get the Webelos II email address so they can be included in the
newsletter email.
- Dennis
will contact Bob L. for updated mailing lists.
Fund Raising
- Popcorn
sales – Scouts sold $4430 and the scouts will receive 40% of that total. Because we’re the 1st time
selling, we’ll be getting another 10% of the sales. At the COH the popcorn sales patch
will be given out and a recognition to the top
sellers.
- All
sales were received except from one scout.
- Next
year we can do a show-and-sell where the boys will have the popcorn to sell
ahead of time.
- Some
troops also sell popcorn at Festival. We should think about doing this
next year.
- We
could open up other fundraisers if the scouts want to.
- Scout
accounts setup
- Pre-approved
fundraisers will deposit funds into the account.
- The
troop will own the funds until the scout want to
reimbursement.
Treasure
Report.
Outings / Trip Reports:
- Lee
has a cabin reserved for the first weekend of January 6-8 reserved for a merit
badge weekend for the Ligar patrol.
Spencer / Isak needs to plan the weekend outing. Isak / Spencer needs to have a signup
for this outing at next Mondays
meeting.
- Community
Service – St Jude pancake breakfast.
- Two
scouts helped on Sat. morning from 8->1 getting the
equipment.
- Successful
fundraiser. Received $903
profit. Served 240 people. Expenses were
~$450.
- --
John Y. mentioned that he was contacted with possibly helping getting a Troop
that was affected by the recent hurricane back on their feet. Kind of like adopting a troop.
- Okpik
– Lee will be at the next two meetings taking possible signups. There are two
contingents.
- Steve
suggest that it should the scouts should attempt to go to the dinner at
Okpik on Friday night.
- Lee
suggest that there should be short meeting after
the pizza party on the 12/19.
- Klondike
fishing derby – The scouts will make an entrance.
- The
boys suggest that maybe they could sell hot dogs and hot
chocolate
- Ripley
Rendezvous, Extreme Program
4/21 -> 4/23..
- We
need to sign up for the Extreme program as soon as possible. Need signup list so we can add the
registration for January.
- Valleyfair
day on 5/20. Scouts can camp out
on Friday night and Saturday night in the picnic areas. More details to
come.
- OA
Spring Fling. 4/21 ->
4/23.
- Merit
Badge Day.
FOS
- Mailing
will be going out in December.
- Lee
mentioned that each donor should check with possible employee matching
gifts. In addition some employees
will give additional matching gifts if their employee also volunteered their
time.
District Merit Badge Day, February
11.
- The
district is looking for Merit Badge councilors for the District Merit Badge
Day. They would like for the
scouts to finish the merit badge during the merit badge day, so some work on
the merit badge may be needed before the merit badge day.
Advancement:
- Eagle
projects –
- Nick
Lindike will do picnic tables over Christmas break. He is trying to get funding for the
materials from Mansards.
- Brad
Bartlet – Possible storage cabinets in the St. Judes Gym.
Troop
Inventory:
- Lee
will organize a cleanup weekend to re-wash / organize the mess
kits.
Parents guide
book
·
Lee is working on a guideline for
new scouts. This should be ready
for new parents next year.

Lee will have outline by the end of
Dec.

When the Webelos visit the troop
there should also be a parent meeting.
