1/19 Communication Theme

                Flags – Matt / moose patrol

Preopening – Matt Russell -  Street Sign identification.

                Skill & Instruction – Matt Norlien.  – Semaphore Flags – Theme flags for skill & instruction

                Inter-patrol Activity – Relay Race with semaphore flags.

Patrol Meetings – Discuss plans for the campout / merit badge outing.  (Dates / Reservations / Details)

n        Moose / Hawks – overnight this weekend at ARK

                Scoutmaster minute – Learn Outdoor code

                Post Meeting – Winter Camping meeting

1/26 – Field Trip.   White Bear Press / Pioneer Press  -- Steve K. will check availability

2/2  - Communication Outing

                Flags – Road-Runners

                Preopening – Klondike derby sled.  (Ligers, Andrew Betlach gets sleds from Ark, bring ski wax, cordless drills, screws).

Skill & Instruction - Morris code – Steve W. will generate a Morris code worksheet.

Inter-patrol Activity – dark room Morris code competition.  (Mr. Wiberg)  (Each patrol should bring a couple mini-mag lights.)

Patrol Meeting – Talk about a spring patrol outing.  (April / May)

-- Inter-Troop outing - Troop 89 would like to invite a patrol from Troop 389 and Troop 433 to do a patrol activity on White Bear Lake, possibly an overnight campout or ice fishing.  (Feb or March). 

-- Troop 89 will be putting together a Merit Badge day, probably in Feb. and they will invite Troop 433 (Troop 433 will suggest the third week in Feb.)

 

·         Kyle brought up the that the last troop meeting had a noise issue with the Basketball games with the Basketball parents and the cafeteria.  Kyle would like a classroom 126 / hallway instead of the cafeteria.  Fred K. will reserve room 126, 124 and the Cafeteria for each troop meeting.

·         Kyle would like the Troop website updated with minutes, pictures and the PLC summary.

o         Rich asked Kyle to send out a reminder email each Friday with the next meetings plan, and possible a hardcopy in the mail.

o         Kelvin will talk to Tom about updating the web site and ask if we could upload the files directly.

·         Kyle asked if the scouts could get a copy of the committee minutes.  A copy of the minutes is posted on the web site and the SPL and ASPL will be sent a copy of the minutes.

 

 

Minutes:

Recharter:

Recharter is complete, with 37 scouts and 28 adults.  6 scouts dropped, 3 scouts turned 18 which two of them were signed up as an adult and were promoted to Assistant Scoutmasters.

 

Eagle COH

Kyle W. received his Eagle and Spencer C. Eagle BOR is pending.  COH invitations will be sent in the mail.

 

Lions Club Funds –

The Lions received a $2000 memorial from Mr. John Nipp estate to be used to support scouts in the community.  Mr. Nipp was Troop 433’s first scoutmaster.  The Lions club decided to generate a Mr. John Nipp memorial scholarship to the troop to be used for summercamp based on the Scouts merit instead of financial need.  They will invest in a CD and would like to generate a scholarship based on the interest. 

 

Other

The troop received it’s long lost troop bugle from a past scout.  --  Rich L motioned that the committee approve up to $25 to clean the lost bugle before it is used by the scouts.  Motioned passed.

 

 

Treasures Report:

Treasure absent.

 

Scott received troopmaster 2008.  Bob L. PC won’t run the software.  Kelvin will attempt to load troopmaster on his old PC.  John Y. received troopledger.

 

Outdoor Activities:

Winter Camping:

n       Rich has twelve for Okpik.

n       Scotts has two for the dogsled.

n       Snow Huskies

FOS:

$2049 received with matching $325, so $2374.  Received 18 with 27 still to respond.  Suggested FOS end for the troop on 1/26.  $6700 goal, $7820 stretch goal.

 

 

Pack Troop Interaction:

  • New scouts to help with the Blue and Gold, Feb 19.   (Contact Bob G.)
    • Isak should attend
    • Nathan K. should attend
  • Pack meeting this Thursday.
  • Pinewood derby on March 7 @ 9 am

 

 

OA

The PLC will need to add the OA elections to the troop calendar.  Scott B. will send an email to Kyle and Steve W. for the elections.

 

The Troop needs an OA rep from the troop. 

 

OA troop email list.  Steve K. will send Kelvin a list of OA members to put together an troop email list.

 

Scott motioned for the troop to donate $50 for Klondike prizes. Motion passed.

 

District Events

Steve K. mentioned that there are many district events that the troop should be taking advantage of and they are filling up.  These include:

·         Kiwanis opener.  

·         White water rafting, June 6/7

·         STARFUN Day 2006, May 16-17
