Court of Honor/Tomahawk Information Meeting

Parents are encouraged to attend the June 2 troop meeting. We will celebrate scouts’ achievements  with  a Court of Honor and present information on Tomahawk summer camp. Scouts will also play some games and enjoy an end-of-the-year pizza.

Troop Elections

Troop elections were held May 12. Peter Hejny  was elected senior patrol leader and Mike Schwarz  was elected assistant senior patrol leader.

Thank You, Friends

Thanks to all who supported BSA and our troop by contributing to the Friends of Scouting campaign this year. We exceeded our goal with more than $2,800 in contributions.  That says a lot about T433 and our commitment to scouting’s goals and values. Good job!

Time to Update Health Forms

Every scout must have an up-to-date health form on file in order to participate in outings. Scouts attending Tomahawk must also complete a long form. Parents, please see Pam Schwarz  at the June 2 Court of Honor to update your scout’s health information.

Tomahawk Deposit Due

Troop 433’s week  at Tomahawk Scout Reservation in sunny western Wisconsin.is coming up August 9–16.The total fee for a full seven days of food, shelter, and activities is $180 (with some additional fees for selected merit badges). If you’d like to attend camp, please give or send your $25 deposit (or the entire $180) by June 2 to Steve Lindlof, 311 Wedgewood, Mahtomedi MN 55115.It is the troop’s policy that no scout should miss camp because money is an issue. If you need financial assistance or have questions about  camp, call  Jim Greene at 653-7558.  Final planning meeting for the trip will be Aug. 3.

Check Out the New Troop Website!

Thanks to Tom Stangl, who is constructing a troop website at www.indianhead433.org. This will be a great place for news, photos, etc. When you click on Troop, you need to enter the user "public" and password “doyourbest” until we decide what portions of the site need to be secured.  Suggestions are appreciated.  Send them to webmaster@indianhead433.org

Good Deeds Well Done

Thanks to all who assisted with Marie Cravens’ service project. Marie is very grateful. Thanks also to Chris Kuehn,  Jesse Lewis, and Ben Logan for participating in the ceremony for National Endowment Tour of Boy Scouts of America May 8 at the St. Paul Hotel.

Pancakes

The pancake breakfast fundraiser was a big success, raising some $2,400 for troop expenses over the next year. Thanks to all who helped and all who ate, bought raffle tickets, contributed to the placemat, and otherwise lent their support to the effort.

Frisbees R Us

A big thanks to St. Jude’s parishioners who donated footballs, basketballs, and other sports equipment to the troop for use at meetings and outings. Check it out at the next meeting.
